THE CERT SPOT / ABOUT
THE WORK FIRST.
THE PAPER SECOND.
The Cert Spot is an independent guide to careers, credentials, and the working world. We examine what jobs actually involve, what it takes to enter them, and whether the training is worth the investment.
MORE THAN ONE WAY IN.
From healthcare and skilled trades to technology and licensed professions, there is no single route to meaningful work. Some paths require degrees. Others begin with apprenticeships, exams, certifications, or experience.
SHOW THE RECEIPTS.
THE ACTUAL WORK
The daily responsibilities, schedules, and working conditions behind the job title.
THE WAY IN
Required training, licensing, credentials, and the difference between must-haves and marketing.
THE TRADEOFF
Training costs, compensation, opportunity, and what a credential can—and cannot—deliver.
We’re building this resource one researched guide at a time. We distinguish documented requirements from marketing claims and don’t pretend every career has an easy answer.
